Washington DC

Last month we went to Washington DC right after our trip to CA (literally, we got home and had about four hours until we were out the door and to the airport). What a great trip! We went out to see Scott's sister Brooke, her hubby Mark and Scarlett's sweet cousin Graham. Scarlett and Graham have a special connection. Seriously, it's like they know they are the first cousins (on the Peterson side) and have their own little bond. Graham loves to cuddle Scarlett. It is the most adorable thing. She is so fascinated with him and just watches his every move.
We visited all the sites like a couple of typical tourist (minus the fanny packs), and spent a lot of time with the Studderts. It was a great time.
One of mine and Scott's favorite parts was our tour of the US Capitol. We called my old boss Spencer Stokes who took us. I worked for him at the Utah capitol when he was a Lobbyist, now he is Senator Mike Lee's chief of Staff. He gave us an in depth tour where he took us places most people don't get to see, explained all the urban legends (true and false ones),  and took us in the underground tunnel trains the senators ride on. Lucky us!
Another favorite was Mt. Vernon. How amazing to stand in the home of our countries first president.
Anyone who knows me, knows my passion for this country and this country's history. Perfect vacation for yours truly. I am obsessed with DC. Thank you Brooke and Mark for the amazing trip!

  1. LOVE DC! You make me miss it! That's one of my favorite temples because it was such a place of peace during a really hard summer. Wasn't it awesome seeing that old sunstone in the American History Museum?! Glad you had a fun time. I miss you.
