Just when you decided you needed to spice your office life up... Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce to you, the great office prank! It only takes 30 seconeds a day, lasts for months, and provides you with a little daily laughter. Tools needed; LOTS of air fresheners (preferably all different scents), some duct tape, and a good sport like Jim. As you know, I worked in Senator Bennett's election office until May 8th, when he got ousted (by people making a big mistake). He has been a great Senator and I feel bad for Utah because they are losing such an awesome leader. Anyways, while I worked there, Jim Bennett (the Senator's son) was huge entertainment to the whole office! He might be the funniest person I know. Though maybe not the most observant because we pulled off the awesome prank for about 2 months without him noticing. This is a great office prank, feel free to steal my idea if you wish ;)

Exhibit A: Jim Bennett

So this all started when my friend/co-worker Shelly and I were given a free air freshener at a political event. The next day at work we decided to tape it under Jim's desk. The scent was "fresh". It was very pungent. Everyone in the office noticed the smell.. Except for Jim.

So we decided to continue adding one every day..

We switched up the scents. One day watermelon, the next day mango, then a chocolate (yes they really sell that at select seven elevens) It was HORRIBLE. He did notice after a few, but we convinced him his office was directly under a bathroom. I walked in a couple times to him standing on chair sniffing the vents for signs of the bathroom. He bought it. I even pretended to call maintenance to complain about the smell a few times.

But it didn't bother him enough to actually seek out the smell. So day by day we continued to add the little smell bombs. These babies are strong!

Shelly was good at making sure they dangled right above his knees, but not too low where he might see them. Good job Shells ;)

Morning prep. Jim was most likely down the hall, or in the rest room at this moment. We had to be quick!

I believe by the time Jim discovered our trick, we had a total of 43 under the desk, or hidden elsewhere in his office. Prank accomplished.

Reunited

Brittney and I have been friends for years. We had so much fun in high school and our first year of college, but she moved down to Southern Utah and we didn't see each other for a couple years. Lame excuse not to stay in touch. It was weird because we used to be together all the time! We worked our first couple jobs together at a pizza parlor and at Red Robin (not even ashamed)! Anyways, we recently reunited and have been hanging out again. Its so much fun, our hubbys hit it off and we all four have a blast together. So happy to have her back:)

No, this was not a posed picture. Everytime we get together these two love jamming on the guitars... They could for hours at a time if we left them alone.

Happy birthday to Britt and Jen! Love both of these ladies. Ashley and Macy put together the cutest Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party. It was adorable. I wish I got more pictures. There were tea cups and cards perfectly placed everywhere. It was so fun.

Campaign Craziness

Most of my friends know, I work full time on Senator Bennett's re-election campaign. Got the job last October, working towards his election this November. I LOVE campaigning, BUT you have to be passionate about it and willing to put in the hours. And by hours I mean weeks where you work like 13, 14 hour days. Poor Scotty. He has been amazing these past few weeks of madness. We are getting ready for neighborhood caucus meetings (every neighborhood in the State will have their caucus meeting March 23rd which is Tuesday). This will determine how many delegates we (Senator Bennett) gets. Very important. So in preparing for March 23rd we have been doing debates with the other candidates, packet stuffing, phone calls, event after event (Including one with Mitt Romney last weekend!), fundraising, etc.. Lots of work and lots of people volunteering. Scott has become a pro volunteer. He is so supportive, I love it.

Bennett 2010!

Oh the things spouses do that drive us nuts... For those of you who know my sweet hubby, know that he does a lot of those things! Scott is the worlds biggest tease. Thats what happens when you are the only boy and have the duty of teasing 4 sisters day in and day out.

That boy loves music, and that is one of the things I love most about him. I adore his guitar playing (except when I am trying to watch the bachelor, and I can't hear). But there is something about the recorder that drives me insane! A recorder is like a plastic flute.. Scott found an old one in his parents basement last week. It was funny to watch him try to make up songs at first.. then not so much! He just sits there while he watches TV blowing and making high pitch sounds. So I had to hide it from him. He thinks its too funny to get a rise out of me. In my defense, I did warn him.

It looks darling and innocent. Give it 20 minutes..

Life without sweets can still be sweet..

Going without sugar could easily be the worst thing ever. Or so you'd think! It's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. These are some of my favorite non-sugar items.

Clementines

Sugar free Stover's. (I try to only have two pieces a day)

Sauteed mushrooms.. Weird I know. I crave them almost every day. I sautee them in "I can't believe it's not butter" and a little water, then add some sea salt. They are delicious.

I usually cook the zukini the same way I cook the mushrooms, except I add some pepper.

I am completely obsessed with this place. It's called "yogurt stop". We have gone here almost everyday this last week. They have great sugar free yogurt, and it's pretty cheap.

I am slowly starting to feel more energetic. Bring on week two!

Tonight was a good night. We went out with some of our favorite friends to a fun restaurant, got (sugar free) frozen yogurt from my new favorite yogurt place, then this...

Scott plays/sings almost every night, but I especially liked it tonight. He was singing the song he wrote when he proposed :) Sweet dreams..

The Honeymoon (8 months ago!)

Good news! I found my camera, which means I am going to be a better blogger :) I was going through the lost device and found all the pics from our honeymoon. So exciting, since I thought that we had lost those memorable photos forever! Here are a few.

The beautiful island St. Maarten (Best beaches in the caribbean)

This one was actually taken at the end of our trip. I got really sick the last 2 days from what we think was an ulcer. It's funny looking back now, but at the time it was totally embarrassing! So I started getting really achey and uncomfortable especially at nights (perfect for a honeymoon...) towards the end of our trip. I kept thinking it would go away, but it just got worse and worse.. Poor Scott spent a lot of time running down to the hotel club and restaurant to buy my $4.00 sprites, put up with my whining (those who know me well, know how much I HATE being sick!), hour long back and tummy rubs, and on the last day my $100 doctor visit to get a shot in my rear end... Yes, I got a shot in my bum on my honeymoon... Not ideal, but it really was the best honeymoon ever. P.S. Not my ugly flip flops

Don't you love relaxing on the beach with your feet covered in sand? I do!

Half the Island is French settled, the other half is Dutch. We found this cute little restaurant on the French side that made delicious paninis. I think over all though, we liked the Dutch side better.

Thought this sign was funny. Its on the beach next to the air port. The planes really do fly super low on the beach!

We loved playing shuffle board at night. One night while we were playing, it started pouring out of no where and we got soaked! We had to run to this little tiki hut off the beach and wait for the rain to stop. It was so fun.

Funnest excursion ever! These things (I can't remember what they're called) go super fast! And of course Scott had to be the fastest in the group ;) He is nuts. We hit huge waves, going so fast, I thought for sure I was going to fly off. But we took these out to this great snorkeling area. It was beautiful.

Tell me this isn't the cutest boy in the world?!?! Yes, I am the luckiest :)
