A Clark kind of Christmas

It's almost June and I am finally blogging about Christmas. What a slacker! Here we go...

Christmas 2013 was my parents year to host the whole clan. Party at Clark resort! It really was a memorable one.

What's a holiday without at least one awful sickness? We got off to a rough start when I came down with a VIOLENT 24 stomach flu the day we left. I threw up multiple times on the flight out there, the airport and the drive to my parents. It was pretty rough. Naturally Scott got that same bug ten days later on our flight home! But lets talk about the good stuff...

This was the first year Beck fully understood the concept of Santa and you better believe he tried his best to help Scarlett and Paisley get it. "You better be nice, or Santa wont bring you presents!" The girls half way got it. They knew Santa was the bearded man in all the decorations and crafts they did with Nonna. It was fun to watch them learn and sing all the christmas songs while Nonna played the music on the piano. They also enjoyed snuggling Papa Rock while watching multiple Christmas movies. Christmas spirit was in full swing!

This was also the first time we did a nativity with the kids. Papa Rock read the story (putting his own spin on it in toddler langue). We acted it out in costume and used all the props, with hopes the kids were learning a little bit about the true meaning of Christmas. I'm sure they hardly got it, but it was very sweet.

We decided to start a new tradition. Each year with my parents we will do Christmas eve dinner with the theme of one of the boys missions. This year we did my dad's... Italy! It was a delicious idea. Different pastas, italian sodas a gelato for desert. It was perfect.

Our ten days at home consisted of constant sweets and sugary drinks, lots of pool time, taking turns preparing meals for our growing group, church activities in bishop Clarks branch, a girls night out, a boys night out, Nonna and babies baking sessions, visits with old friends and grandkids being absolutely SPOILED ROTTEN. We sure love being home for the holidays!
