Jenica's birthday

Jenica (aka Yenica) is one of my best friends.  For her birthday last week, we went downtown SL to Benihana.  Very yummy place where they cook the food right in front of you and put on a show. We had a great time. While we were there, a group of obvious athletes (6+ foot tall men) walked in to the back area where we were sitting and were seated at the table just next to us. Scott was star struck. One of these huge men was Kevin Durant, the #1 player in the NBA last year. All the guys at our table were pretty giddy.. I decided I had better get a pic of him with Scarlett. He was actually very cute about it. He wasn't sure how to hold a baby, so I helped him get in position. He asked "am I doing it right" which we thought was kind of funny. All in all it was a great night with great friends. HAPPY BIRTHDAY YENICA! You are one of my favorite people ;).

Thumb Sucker

Bring on the dental bills! We have a thumb sucker. I know it's a bad habit, but it is adorable. 

Growing Girl

Scarlett, stop growing so fast! It's crazy how big my little baby is getting. Almost daily you surprise us with new tricks and expressions. Your mommy and daddy are consumed with the love we have for you.

Newest milestones include:

-Laughing (first time was Feb 27th). It was so adorable the first time, that mommy cried! What a baby, I know.

-Sitting up in your bumbo! Big girl sits up without getting tiered for about 20 minutes. 

-Lots of talking. Cooing that is ;). You have long coo sessions with mommy and daddy like you're telling us very important things! We love it. 

-Constant smiles. My favorite is when you look up and smile at me, then get bashful and push your head into my tummy, then look back up and do it again and again. It's so precious. 

-Last night you grabbed your rattle! That is the first thing you have grabbed.

Nothin But Smiles

Scarlett has become a big smiler! Most rewarding thing ever :). Every morning she starts off the day with big smiles. It seems like she smiles most for mommy! Which you can imagine, makes me very happy.

Valentines day!! I love V-day. This year I was a real slacker and didn't decorate at all.  I thought about it the day of, but opted out. One of the many fun things about having a baby who can't argue with you?? Photo shoots! Yes, I dressed Scarlett up and took a few pics. Had to, it was her first Valentines day;).

On the actual night of V-day, we went over to Brian and Lauren's to help babysit Beck and Paisley so that Christiana and Justin could go out. Lauren made a delicious pizza dinner, of course, with romantic table settings and sparkling cider. It was yummy and beautiful! 

The next day Scott and I dropped Scarlett off With her G-ma & G-pa P so that we could go on a real Valentine's day date. We just went to dinner at La Jolla Groves, then instead of mini golf (the plan), we decided we were too tiered and just wanted to get back to our baby. Dinner was perfect anyway :).

No one likes shots..

We had Scar's 2 month check up yesterday. Here are her stats; For weight, she is in the 45th percentile weighing in at a whopping 10 Lbs. 13 Oz. For height, she's in the 40th percentile at 22.25 inches long. Her perfectly shaped little head is in the the 25th percentile. All of that was fine and dandy. The shots are what broke mommy's little heart. She was already fussy before it began. Then they poked her 3 times and both she and mommy cried. It was sad.. Next time, daddy is going.

After all that crying, she was wiped out! So wiped out that her headband coming down around her eyes didn't even phase her.

Two Antoinettes

Scott had to do some work in St. George this week, so it was the perfect time to take Scarlett down to meet her name sake. We used Antoinette as Scarlett's middle name because of this awesome woman! My grandma is the best grandma in the world. She makes everyone around her feel so special. I have the best childhood memories of grandma's house.
Grandma loved holding and cuddling her new little great grand baby. It was very sweet watching the two Antoinettes together. My parents were visiting us in SL for Scarlett's blessing, so we brought them as well. It was a fun, short trip!
